GENERAL MEETING MINUTES - 11/10/07

President Leida Jones called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. A quorum was established.

Judy Whittaker read the minutes of the 11/11/2006 General Membership meeting. Lynn de La Torre made a motion to accept the minutes as read and as published in the “Aussie Fan”, Janice Brough seconded. None opposed, minutes accepted.

President's Report: Leida Jones said the club had a good year and that we made some money and several members got titles this year. We had five show weekends.

Secretary's Report: Judy Whittaker had presented Nancy Watson's report to the board and it was approved.

Affiliate Representative Report: Presented by Lynn de La Torre. She has received three membership renewals for 2008 and has also received a couple recently for 2007. Membership renewals are due January 1, 2008.

Treasurer's Report: Brenda Griffin could not attend the show but sent a report. It was presented to the Board and approved. Judy Whittaker read it to the membership present. The balance at the end of September, 2007 in the Money Market was $6,042.72 and the ending balance in the checking account was $7,096.74 which is a total of $13,139.46. The income minus expenses from November 30th, 2006 through September 30th, 2007 was $2,278.92.

Show Coordinator Report: None

Old Business: There had been a Most Versatile Junior Award proposed but it was reported at the year end meeting last year the committee members had not come back to the board with any recommendations. There is a new Year End Award for Junior performance this year which is made up of scores from Agility and Obedience.

New Business: Melanie Magamoll asked for any ideas for Year End Awards. There was general discussion. Sally Roth said she had gotten a lot of use out of a monogrammed clothing bag she received one year. Leida Jones asked for anyone with any ideas to contact Melanie. David Clayton asked if there would be any interest in doing a “Fun Day”. There was general discussion.

Judy Whittaker made a motion to formerly increase and standardize the show entry fees. The fees for Conformation Shows & Obedience Trials would be:
$14 pre-entry / $18 day of show for all regular classes conformation & obedience
$10 per-entry/$12 day of show for all non-regular classes
$10 for entry of second dog in obedience
$5 for Junior Handler in conformation (not changed)

For Stock Dog Trials:
$30 for Ducks for pre-entry / day of show $35
$35 for Sheep for pre-entry / day of show $40
$40 for Cattle for pre-entry / day of show $45

There would be no change to fees charged for Agility Trials. Lynn de La Torre seconded. There was general discussion. All approved, none opposed, motion was approved.

The floor was opened for the election of FASA Board of Directors. The By-laws state that a nominee must be in attendance or have provided a written acceptance. The nominees for 2008-2009 Board Members were: Janice Brough, David Clayton, Charlotte Orr, Melanie Magamoll, and Charlie de La Torre.

Judy Whittaker made a motion that the nominations be closed, Janice Brough seconded. A vote was taken, all approved, none opposed, the Board was elected.

Leida Jones said she is planning on calling a Board meeting and general Membership meeting at the February show at the Clayton's home in Quincy, FL

Janice Brough made a motion to adjourn, David Clayton seconded. Meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
